The Foundation of You

In July 2001, psychologist Laura King published an abstract that documented the results of a study she conducted among college students, exploring the impact of journaling.

The results revealed profound effects, with participants experiencing improved moods and perspectives, suggesting potential health benefits associated with journaling.

This research underscores the effectiveness of journaling, a tool we’ll utilize in step 2 of our clarity systems.

Last week, I introduced the foundational system for clarity: the power of identity and we took away one key point – identity precedes success.

This week, we’ll conclude by exploring questions to uncover and empower ourselves with a strong sense of identity through understanding our inner beliefs and perceptions.

Before we continue, it’s important to acknowledge that this journey may be challenging.

Often, both personally and with clients, this exploration can reveal unexpected truths and perceptions.

It’s a moment of realisation that the biggest obstacle we face is often ourselves.

However, maintaining an openness to growth ensures that change is imminent.

Before we proceed, I’ll suggest that you do this more intentionally by finding a quiet space, pulling out your journal (physical or digital), and playing some soothing music. Music has a unique ability to connect us with our heart and emotions.

Are you ready?
Let’s go.

✍️Take an overview of your life areas and list them. It’s different for different folks but most commonly it will include our faith, our selves (health, mind, soul), family or relationships, career, business and finance.

✍️Take a moment to ponder the questions provided below, allowing yourself to delve deeply into your heart to uncover answers that cover the life areas you just listed.

✍️For each life area ask:

💡What do I believe about this area of my life?
💡How do I feel about this era of my life?
💡 What is the depth of my conviction regarding these beliefs? (You can determine this by rating your beliefs on a scale of 1 to 10).

Don’t rush this process and don’t filter your response. Put pen to paper or fingers to keypad/keyboard and let the words flow from inside you. You’ll be surprised your heart holds answers you didn’t know you had.

Go ahead and get your journals out and let it all out. And if you feel comfortable, share with me how it went and perhaps the strangest beliefs you had you didn’t even know you had.

When you’re done, take a step back and go through what you’ve written.
Therein lies the raw material and foundation for the beginning of a new and better you because you’ve identified where you are at and now you can start a new journey to where you want to be.

Ideally, this should be the last newsletter for this month because I only write three times a month. But I will skip that this month and send you another letter next week Tuesday. Hope you like that? 🙂

So next week, I’ll show you how you can convert the raw material you just uncovered (or you are uncovering) to the core ingredients for your growth and shining

Till then, write unscripted, and let’s talk next week

Praying for you and rooting for you.

You definitely can be all you were born to be

Love, Light & Lots of Laughter
